Why is Hair Care important?

Having a haircare routine is often associated with dozens of products and hours of styling, but it doesn’t have to be. Including a few essential ingredients and switching up some old habits can have a significant impact on the health of your hair & scalp.

Firstly, it is always beneficial to figure out your hair type in order to get the most out of your products. Some hair types may demand more care than others, so finding the best method & products for cleansing, moisturising and styling your hair will help you nail down a simple, effective haircare routine that you can stick to.

1.) Cleanse

Fine hair:

This hair texture may need to be washed more frequently than other hair types as it is prone to getting oily quickly due to the hair shaft being smoother; making the oils sit visibly on top. However over-washing your hair may irritate the scalp and actually leave it producing more sebum in the long run. This is where an alternative to a shampoo is going to be your best bet. Our Revitalising Hair Spritz effectively cuts through grease and product build-up & is also formulated to be very lightweight - a big pro for fine hair. The Spritz also contains protein, adding strength to the bonds between the hair molecules.

Medium hair:

This hair texture may not need to be washed as often as fine hair due to the thicker hair strands & more natural volume however medium hair is often more textured and may require some taming in-between wash days. The Revitalising Hair Spritz and its non-tacky formula brings back bounce and life to the hair shaft, making it the perfect alternative for refreshing your hair before styling; especially if there is previous product buildup that may be weighing it down.

Coarse haiR:

Coarse hair is usually the most textured and more prone to moisture loss, as the hair shaft is the thickest of the three and requires the most hydration. It also takes the longest to dry, so washing it very frequently may not be the best option for those with coarse hair. Keeping the hair well hydrated, but also looking & feeling good may be tricky; however our Revitalising Spritz was designed to do exactly that. Not only does it break down impurities and buildup, but also nourishes the hair, providing that extra moisture - helping to tame frizz & unruly hair strands.

2.) Condition

Fine Hair:

Although it may seem like fine hair does not need to be conditioned as thoroughly , it should still be a vital step in your routine. This will help to maintain balance and ensure that no extra oils are produced to compensate for their loss. The key to conditioning fine hair is to try and avoid the roots and use product sparingly. The moisturising hair Souffle is packed with ingredients that will deeply nourish the hair shaft without weighing it down - and a little goes a long way. It also contains active minerals that will strengthen the strands & improve the overall health of your hair.

Medium Hair:

Adding extra moisture to medium textured hair is very important, especially if you use heat when styling. Due to medium hair strands being thicker, more product may be required for the product to be well distributed throughout. The Moisturising Hair Souffle has been formulated to leave your hair feeling hydrated; adding body and shine whilst helping to maintain natural bounce - designed for all hair textures and particularly great for holding curls and waves.

Coarse Hair:

Those with coarse hair will sometimes find that their hair lacks hydration and as a result experience lots of frizz and tangles, especially if you have curls or coils. Often, not enough moisture results in split ends, lack of definition and difficulty when trying to style the hair. The ingredients in our moisturising Hair Souffle were carefully chosen to restore the hair with its natural elasticity and prevent breakage; providing each strand with essential nutrients and minerals - ensuring that your curls stay intact, well hydrated and bouncy, without weighing them down.

Style & Maintenance

It is a no-brainer that heat can be extremely damaging for the hair, and whilst staying away or taking a break is the best option, it is not the most convenient for everybody; but there are ways in which you can minimise the damage and improve your overall hair health.

  • Always use heat protection when styling - this forms a protective barrier between the tool & hair shaft, reducing direct contact.

  • Instead of using a regular towel when drying your hair, consider switching up for a microfiber towel. Not only is it more absorbent, but it will also reduce frizz and prevent breakage.

  • Nutrition is another vital factor when it comes to hair health. Many nutritional deficiencies are linked to hair loss and scalp conditions, so introducing more wholefoods and supplements into your diet can have a significant impact on the condition of your hair and scalp.

  • Deep conditioning is often neglected, but highly beneficial for all hair types - particularly if it is more exposed to pollutants, styling products & heat. Deep conditioning works on the top layer of the hair, coating it with vital nutrients and re-hydrate the hair when conditioner alone isn’t enough.

  •  Hot oil treatments work slightly differently but also have amazing benefits for the hair & scalp. The purpose of this kind of treatment is to increase the nutrient supply to the follicle itself, encouraging growth, relieving scalp irritation and protecting the hair from damage. Our Hair Growth Oil is formulated to effectively treat all types of hair, adding strength & shine - particularly great for hair that is prone to frizz, breakage and a lack of moisture.

How do you use it as a hot oil treatment?

  • Heat a few pumps of the oil on the stove, in the microwave or simply by rubbing it in your palm

  • Using your fingers, massage the oil into the scalp using circular motions

  • Work it down the lengths of the hair using your hands or a wide tooth comb

  • Tie the hair up in a bun if needed

  • Wrap it in a warm cloth, t-shirt or a shower cap

  • Leave the oil in for a minimum of 20 minutes or overnight if you can

  • Rinse out the oil and then shampoo & condition (the hair may need to be washed more thoroughly)
